Akon, Come Get Your Girl

Wow. How quickly things change.

Last week, a video began to circulate online that depicted Akon grinding all over a girl (named Deena Alleyne) onstage in Trinidad. Shortly thereafter, reports surfaced that the girl was only 14 and her father was a minister who was looking to have charges filed against the singer. Daily articles were then released in the Trinidad & Tobago Express with news such as the club owner only let in 18+ year olds so the girl must've lied about her age to get in; the Trinidad government wanted to charge Akon with committing a lewd act in public the way he was dancing; Deena saying that she felt uncomfortable while Akon was flinging her all over like a 'rag doll' but the crowd was cheering and so she let it go; and perhaps the best one of all - Deena had decided to turn her back on hip-hop and dance for the Lord.

You can read the last one here.

Anyway... pics started to circulate that pretty much showed the opposite of what was going on in the original video. The chick was ALL OVER Akon and was on top of him while his own hands were above his head not even touching her. It definitely showed another side to the story.

And nooooooow, the latest development is the Trini Deena MySpace page. Granted, I don't believe by any stretch of the imagination that Deena herself made this page. It's clearly the work of someone who knows her though. There are a ton of pics from the infamous night at the club, but perhaps the most telling of all is that there are a bunch of pics of Deena acting less-than-holy in plenty of other situations. This is especially funny considering her defense was that she NEVER acted that way and only dressed up a certain way and went along with the raunchy dancing because she had to act older to get in the club and all. Well check the pics out and see for yourself what you think about this chick now:

MISS TLC SAYS: Hmm. Akon really doesn't look like he's taking advantage of anyone there.

MISS TLC SAYS: That's my personal fave because it shows that she is in fact very fond of that red bathing suit-ish top and did NOT just wear it to the club that one night.

MISS TLC SAYS: The same shirt...again.

MISS TLC SAYS: I'm sure she would defend this one as part of her "modeling" portfolio.

MISS TLC SAYS: Riiiight.

MISS TLC SAYS: This is really the only one where she DOES look really young. And it could be explained that she's just wearing a bikini for heaven's sake. Buuuuut why is she "posing" on the phone and why is she having someone take a picture of her like that.

MISS TLC SAYS: This is the effect of MySpace people.

MISS TLC SAYS: Ditto.

I'm not surprised that Avril came in at #1. She sells big records. I actually really her single "Girlfriend" (the lyrics are VERY Miss TLC-ish), so I ain't mad at her.

Other than that, this week's chart is COMPLETELY dominated by country. Bucky Covington, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, AND Carrie Underwood? Sheesh. That genre is clearly the biggest seller nowadays.

Another big trend on this week's chart is, once again, American Idol. Sanjaya, or no Sanjaya, you CAN NOT hate on that show. THEY HAVE THREE FORMER CONTESTANTS IN THE TOP 10. Unreal.

I'm also pleased to see that Timbaland is still hanging on in the top 10. ESPECIALLY considering his last solo album sold like 20K copies IN TOTAL.

Buy more albums people. I can't say it enough.

No More Deluxe "B'Day" For Beyonce

From MTV.com...

Beyonce's B'Day Over? Singer Pulls Deluxe Editions Due To Lawsuit

Legal issues exist over singer's cover of Des'ree song.

By Jennifer Vineyard

Apr 24 2007 2:30 PM EDT

Three weeks after celebrating her second B'Day, Beyoncé is pulling the plug — at least for now — on the re-release of her recent solo LP. Thanks to a pending lawsuit over her cover of Des'ree's "I'm Kissing You" on her B'Day - Deluxe Edition album and video anthology, the singer and her label have agreed to stop distributing the albums and DVDs that include the song.

When Beyoncé sat down earlier this year with MTV News to discuss the new material featured on B'Day - Deluxe Edition, she mentioned that her version of the song — which is called "Still in Love (Kissing You)" on the reissue — wasn't originally intended for release and that she had just recorded it because she "always loved it."

Indeed, Beyoncé's team's paperwork — included in the copyright-infringement suit filed in New York's Manhattan Federal Court last week — depicts a rush to get permission to use the song, with letters sent back and forth up to and including the day of the deluxe edition's release. According to the suit, Beyoncé's team originally sought clearance on February 13 to use "interpolations" of the Des'ree song, which became a hit when it appeared in the Leonardo DiCaprio/ Claire Danes movie "Romeo + Juliet" in 1996. Lawyers for the two sides (Beyoncé and Des'ree's publishers the Royalty Network) started talking, and by March 3 — a month before Beyoncé re-released her album — Beyoncé's side had a "confirmation letter and license request" ready to submit.

On March 5, the Royalty Network's lawyers answered by submitting a counter proposal in which they granted permission — within certain limits. For one thing, they would allow use of the song, but not in video form. They would also allow use of the song only if the title were not changed. The Royalty Network's lawyers at Epstein Levinsohn Bodine & Weinstein said in the complaint that "despite follow-ups," they didn't hear back from Beyoncé's camp. And on March 27, according to the complaint, they discovered that Beyoncé and her record label planned to proceed with their plans to include the song on the re-release anyway. In a letter they wrote to Beyoncé's lawyer and her distribution group Sony, the Royalty Network called the move "completely unacceptable."

MISS TLC SAYS: Beyonce, you really should've saved yourself the trouble and canned this song from the start. Your version is nowhere near as beautiful and serenely powerful as Des'ree's. Oh well.

Miss TLC On MySpace

Hey folx,

Just wanted to send a quick note to say 'thanks' to the thousands of readers who have been checking in at The Wonderful World Of Miss TLC on the daily. I truly appreciate your support. We have fun with what we do over here, but we also try to keep it balanced and informative as well (in other words, we are trying to differentiate ourselves from the other celeb sites that only post pics and/or try to abuse people with nothing else to say). We bring you an informed take on celeb news, music industry happenings, and album/concert/video reviews. I also try to keep y'all up on the top grossing films of the week, the weather in NYC (where I'm based), and what videos MTV is putting in their top rotation (check the side panels if you haven't already).

I also wanted to take this time to announce to you all that we have officially set up a profile on MySpace and would love for you to check that out as well. I am still trying to work out the details of what will be there and what will be here (we may do contest and merchandising cross-overs for instance) but it's definitely up and running. So if you are on MySpace, check it out @ myspace.com/theoriginalmisstlc (oh yes...cuz you know some bitches were already on there trying to claim my name :).

See you all soon and thanx again for the continued support!

Cowell Clears Things Up

During Tuesday night's Idol, contestant Chris Richardson chose to say something to the students at Virginia Tech and the families and friends of the victims after his performance. The camera happened to instantly flash onto Simon who was seen tapping his hand impatiently and rolling his eyes.

For once, Simon felt terrible and explained to the press today that by NO means was his annoyed reaction directed towards Chris' Virginia comment and was instead in response to Chris' defense that he purposely sang his song in a nasal tone.

You can read more about it here.

In other Cowell news...

The Sun unearthed some very old footage of Simon appearing on the game show Sale Of The Century in the early 90s and posted it on their website. It's very interesting to see Simon acting as someone other than the smarmy Idol judge that he is now.

You can watch the video here.

And in other Idol news...

Sanjaya's gone. Nuff' said.

Beyonce Rips Off

I told y'all about this a while ago...

Beyonce re-records song without proper approval.

So yeah, Beyonce re-did the famous Des'ree song from "Romeo + Juliet" and is now being sued. Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. You really think you're invincible, don't you? Unreal. Des'ree is not even asking for that much. *sigh* At least Be's version sucks. At least Des'ree has the satisfaction that her version had some real feeling behind it. Beyonce's? Not so much.

What's The Purpose?

From the Trindad & Tobago Express...

Akon 'cons' Trinidad
'Dance for a trip to Africa'

by Nigel Telesford
Saturday, April 14th 2007

Senegal-born superstar Akon and one of the "volunteers" during his performance at the Zen nightclub on Thursday night in Port of Spain.

International superstar Akon lived up to his name as he conned seven ladies into dancing onstage during his performance on Thursday night at the Zen nightclub in Port of Spain.

The star from Senegal managed to convince the ladies, who made their way onstage, that they were taking part in a global contest and that they could earn a fabulous grand prize trip to Africa if they won.

The competition was then filmed by Akon's crew and later revealed to be a mere sham for the entertainment of the audience present, and an even greater potential global audience, as he promised to upload the footage onto the popular Internet video website www.youtube.com.

After performing his string of hit singles, including "Ghetto", "Locked Up", "Soul Survivor" and "I Wanna Love You", Akon requested and secured seven volunteers "to represent Trinidad" in the contest. He claimed that he had done this "everywhere he went", and that "Africa was currently ranked number one", with "Atlanta" and "London" coming in second and third, respectively.

He said: "We've never done this in the Caribbean before, but my DJ assures me that Trinidad has the best winers. Is that true? Well, y'all gotta represent here. Come on up now. Don't be scared."

The star then assured the audience that the local winner would compete in the finals against "Africa". As the contest began, each lady tried to out-wine the other to the sounds of Akon's recent collaboration, "Smack That", which features hip-hop star Eminem.

The crowd roared their approval of the eventual winner, who was then taken two short steps "to Africa" by Akon and promised that she could name her prize herself, if she defeated the best of Africa: none other than Akon himself.

Later on, Akon would have his way with the petite young lady: turning, twisting and even flipping her body, while mimicking sexual positions and acts all over the stage for three consecutive rounds.

His DJ, Virgin Islands native Benny D, even joined in during the second round and together they sandwiched the young lady on the floor of the stage. In the end, Akon declared himself the winner, even though the crowd adjudged that his female volunteer had won the contest.

A prolonged chant from the audience for a soca selection to settle the dispute went unheeded, although the singer did perform a soca-esque version of his latest single.

The African phenomenon, whose latest single, "Don't Matter", is currently ranked number one on the Billboard World Singles Chart, thrilled the capacity audience for just over 40 minutes, but left many patrons disappointed and wanting more of the star from Senegal.

    Two Down, Seven To Go

[SCROLL PAST THIS POST IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT TONIGHT'S EPISODE. YA KNOW, IN CASE YOU DIDN'T WATCH IT YET OR SOMETHING.]

"The Sopranos" was great tonight. It was a very nice followup to a last week's debut of the last 9 episodes. There was tension between Tony and Christopher, Tony and Carmela, Phil and Christopher, A.J. and his girlfriend, and Christopher and P.T. There was death by disease and death by a bullet. There was CRAZY drama over the boss situation in NY. There was an interesting scene with Tony and Dr. Melfi. And there was humor in Phil Leotardo's speech at the bar (on why the workers at Ellis Island changed his family's surname: "...because they were jealous that's why!").

More importantly, we got to see a glimpse into the final theme of the show. Will Tony leave the mob? He's clearly bothered by the constant interference with the F.B.I. and the sad way that he and his contemporaries are getting older, sicker, and sadder. It's just not the way it used to be and Carmine really opened Tony's eyes to another side of life.

Also, they made it look like the Tony/Christopher/Phil triangle has not seen the end of its run. The way tonight's episode ended, it left you wondering "will Tony have to kill Christopher? will Christopher lose it and kill Tony? or will Phil beat them both to the punch and take matters into his own hands since he has nothing left to lose?"

Either way, I'm pleased with what David Chase has given us so far. Hopefully it stays this good for the last 7 episodes. (In case you are interested, the name of next week's episode is "Remember When".)

SIDENOTE: The whole HBO tie-in to the making of the movie "Cleaver" was great. To actually see the character of Christopher Moltisanti come to life outside of "The Sopranos" is great stuff. "Danny's from the streets...of Long Island I think..."

The NY Daily News Needs Some Fact-Checkers

    From today's NY Daily News...

Filthy, degrading lyrics paying huge dividends

    BY TINA MOORE
    DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

    Sunday, April 15th 2007, 4:00 AM

Big record companies have little incentive to stop producing lurid chart-topping rap tunes that rake in billions of dollars despite renewed calls for a ban on lyrics that degrade women and blacks.

"We must deal with the fact that "ho" and the b-word are words that are wrong from anybody's lips," the Rev. Al Sharpton said after CBS fired radio host Don Imus over his remarks about the Rutgers women's basketball team.

But words that are demeaning to women and blacks litter six of Billboard's Top 10 rap singles - suggesting that listeners do not share his sentiments.

The explicit song "This Is Why I'm Hot," by the Washington Heights rapper Mims, was the No.1 Pop hit for several weeks running:

    "I love the Dirty, Dirty

    Cause n----s show me love

    The ladies start to bounce

As soon as I hit the club."

The song, which freely uses the b-word when referring to women, has been downloaded 853,000 times, according to Nielsen Soundscan, which tracks music sales. The single was also purchased 1.5 million times as a ringtone, making it the biggest selling Mastertone of 2007 to date.

The nation's No. 2 Rap hit, "I'm a Flirt," by R. Kelly and Bow Wow, is No. 15 on the pop chart and talks about "pimpn" and "ho's" - shorthand for whore. The song has been downloaded as a ringtone 433,000 times:

    "Ima b pimpin

    I dont be slippin

When it come down to these hos

    I dont love em."

"Throw Some D's" by Rich Boy is at No. 3 on Billboard's Rap chart and has a chorus that hits all the low notes in its references to black men, women and sex.

Rich Boy, who is produced by SRC/Universal, sold 224,000 albums and his popular single was downloaded 381,000 times in the six weeks it has been available.

Young Jeezy, another SRC/Universal artist, released his last album last December and has sold 1 million copies. The single "Go Getta," downloaded 315,000 times, employs a raunchy reference to female genitalia.

Chief of SRC/Universal Records Steve Rifkind said rap music has fewer obscenities in it today than it did five years ago and that record labels spend money to produce "clean" versions to sell in big-box stores like Target and Wal-Mart.

Still, Rifkind, who said he never allows his three children to listen to his artists' uncut verses, acknowledged that raw versions of the tunes are available online.

"If kids want it, they'll find it," he said.

"You can blame the executives and producers all you want," Rifkind said, "but at the end of the day it comes down to the parents."

Superstar Snoop Dogg pointed out that rappers are not talking about collegiate women.

"We're talking about ho's that's in the 'hood that ain't doing - that's trying to get a n---- for his money," he told MTV.com.

Criticism of the 30-year-old genre is nothing new.

But it is usually short-lived in the mainstream media, said T. Denean Sharpley-Whiting, author of "Pimps Up, Ho's Down: Hip Hop's Hold on Young Black Women."

"It's like black-on-black crime," the Vanderbilt University professor said. "When we come up against whites, in this case Imus, it gets into the news again."

    # # #

MISS TLC SAYS: This article is a disgrace. And not for the reasons Tina Moore is trying to convey. Neither Rich Boy nor Young Jeezy are SRC artists. They are on OTHER labels distributed by Universal (Jeezy is Def Jam, and Rich Boy is Interscope). I mean really. What did they get Steve Rifkind on the phone for quotes and then decided they would act like the artists they are admonishing in the article are artists on his record label just because??? (SRC is helmed by Rifkind.) Don't get me wrong. There IS a ton of derogatory language in many hip-hop songs, but you can not act like you know anything about the culture and the artists who write and perform these songs if you can't even keep the labels they are signed to straight. Note to Moore: No one can ever take your writing seriously if the underlying facts are incorrect. I know this is the copy editor's job, but your name is on the piece and therefore, you are responsible for it and should make sure the info is right. For instance, someone like me would be able to write the text AND check it my damn self. But maybe that's because I actually KNOW what I write about. So do me a favor and holla at me if you need a music writer who actually knows her stuff. :)

    Hot Boots

These were actually pretty cheap (I think I got them on sale for like $80 down from $120). It's actually rare for me to buy something in a lower level chain store but I couldn't resist when I saw how adorable these were. And with the return of these wildy popular feature, I just wanted to show my readers that the brand and price are not always what matters to me.

Yes, it's true that I love love love Manolos and shoes by Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Chanel, Pedro Garcia, Betsy Johnson, and Burberry. But I can still look sexy in a pair of Nine West pumps, or a no-name pair that I stumble across in a random no-name boutique in Brooklyn. THAT'S what matters. Your confidence, swagger, and fashion sense should not be based on a name or number. Anyone can look good in a Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dress for a reason...because the cut and material of high level designer label merchandise is generally superior to the stuff you see in Old Navy. A truly fabulous woman can look just as good in an Old Navy dress. That's the difference.

Don't get me wrong, I love love love Diane's dresses. They are an absolute necessity when it comes to subtle sexiness and extreme femininity. But I did buy one of those new Old Navy babydoll dresses with the pockets that they came out with this season and I love that too. So don't ever forget your most important accessory when you get dressed in the morning - confidence. Some people got it, and some people don't. But without it, you're truly naked.

DONALD TRUMP NAMED UNSEXIEST MAN IN THE WORLD

THEPHOENIX.COM RELEASES 2ND ANNUAL UNSEXIST MEN LIST

Boston, March 11 – The editors of the Boston Phoenix have named Donald Trump the Unsexiest Man in the World. The annual list, which appears on thephoenix.com, is the answer to People magazine’s annual “Sexiest Men” issue. Donald Trump is one of 99 men (and Anne Coulter) named to the Phoenix’s 2007 “Unsexiest Men” list.

The annual award has been renamed the “Golden Gilbert,” in honor of last year’s winner, comic Gilbert Gottfried, who topped the list that received attention in more than 300 media outlets worldwide.

Gottfried, when informed of the honor, had the following remarks: “I think it's a total injustice that I did not make it to the list this year. I'm still the unsexiest man in the world! If you have any question about that just ask ANY woman no really, ANY woman".

This list will be live on-line at 9 pm tonight. To view the list in its entirety log on to www.thephoenix.com/unsexy

Country is doing BIG things with Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, and Alison Krauss in the top 10. Luckily, American Idol is right on top of it with country week (and Martina McBride) coming up next week as well.

Both Hilary Duff and Timbaland debuted respectfully but Paul Wall seems to have fallen off from his last debut (which was double the amount he debuted with this time).

However the big story for this week is not that NOW is back on top (since people love those damn compilations) but it's that Beyonce jumped from #69 back up to #6 just because (1) she re-released "B'Day" with some bonus tracks, and (2) she did not one, but two, morning shows last week in order to publicize that fact. Them morning shows are NO joke. Many acts see a large boost in sales after appearing.

Birkhead named baby's dad; Stern won't fight for custody
    POSTED: 10:11 p.m. EDT, April 10, 2007

NASSAU, Bahamas (CNN) -- Former boyfriend Larry Birkhead was declared the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby Tuesday, and Howard K. Stern, listed as Dannielynn's father on the birth certificate, said he would not fight for custody.

"My feelings for Dannielynn have not changed," said Stern, who was Smith's lawyer and live-in companion.

"I am not going to fight Larry Birkhead on custody. We're going to do what we can to make sure that the best interests of Dannielynn are carried out. And I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure he gets sole custody," Stern said outside the Bahamian courthouse where the DNA test results were disclosed. (Watch Stern express his disappointment )

When asked when Birkhead would get custody of the 7-month-old girl, who has been living with Stern in Nassau, Stern said he wanted there to be a "gradual transition."

Stern said Birkhead could come to the house any time and spend as much time as he wants with his daughter.

    But Is This Guy Serious?

    From CNN.com...

Police: Arrested 'Laguna' star spewed slurs
    POSTED: 10:04 a.m. EDT, April 10, 2007

SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- Television personality Jason Wahler hurled racial and homophobic invectives at a police officer when he was arrested over the weekend after punching a hotel security guard and passing out drunk in a hallway, a Seattle Police Department report said.

Wahler, 20, a star of MTV's "The Hills" and "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," was arrested early Sunday for investigation of assault and criminal trespass. He posted bail and was released from the King County Jail nine hours later.

It was Wahler's third arrest since September, when he punched a city worker and tow-truck driver in Los Angeles. Last month, the judge in that case sentenced him to 60 days in jail -- a sentence he was scheduled to serve beginning in May -- and ordered him to attend Alcoholics Anonymous classes and a one-day program at the Museum of Tolerance for using racial slurs.

The police report said that shortly after midnight on Sunday, officers responded to the Waterfront Marriott hotel. A security guard told them there had been an altercation in the lobby, and that someone wrestled with Wahler to restrain him.

When the guard asked the pair to settle down or leave, Wahler shoved him in the chest and then punched him in the mouth, the police report said. Another person restrained Wahler and removed him from the building, but he came back a short time later.

Two police officers found him passed out on the third floor, reeking of alcohol, and woke him up.

Wahler then "repeatedly" called Officer C. DePina, who is not black, a "n-----" and a "f-----," DePina wrote in the report. "Wahler stated he was rich and would have my ass. Wahler made vague threats to assault officers."

It was not immediately known if Wahler, of Laguna Beach, California, had obtained a lawyer or if he had a publicist. The city attorney's office has 20 days to file charges, said spokeswoman Ruth Bowman.

Wahler was also arrested in March in Greenville, North Carolina, for investigation of underage drinking and resisting a public officer.

MISS TLC SAYS: I mean how often do you let a momo like this get arrested before you lock him up and throw away the key? I mean, I know he's not killing anyone but this is ridiculous. It's just an irresponsible "I am invincible" attitude gone wild that has to be stopped. Perhaps they should put him and Foxy Brown in a cell together so that they could compare notes?

    Brandy Fired

According to TMZ.com, Brandy has been replaced as a judge on the show "America's Got Talent" by none other than Sharon Osbourne. Seriously, that show's coming back on? Was there even a winner? And did they become famous? Because I've sure never heard of them. Not only that but one snarky British judge is enough. This show will now have 2 and David Hasselhoff??? Well gee, THAT sounds like a true winner.

MISS TLC SAYS: Keep your head up Brandy. And whatever you do, do NOT follow in your brother's footsteps and start directing bad porn. Oh yes people. I watched that whole tape and I could not believe how blown out of proportion that one was. As a matter of fact, here's the excerpt from the actual press release...

Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch said the company obtained the video from a third party but did not identify the person or entity. “We are comfortable that we have the legal right to distribute this video, despite what others may say,” says Mr. Hirsch. “I’ve seen the video and it’s really great,” says Mr. Hirsch. “It has over 30-minutes of explicit sex that fans of erotica will find very appealing featuring two young and glamorous high profile celebrities. Apparently, the video was shot by Ray J about three years ago when he and Kim were in a relationship. The production is crystal clear and viewers will definitely get their money’s worth. If either Kim or Ray J would like to discuss the video with us we would be happy to do so,” he added.

Riiiight. Try roughly 6 minutes of sex plainly repeated over and over again with Kim moaning two lines of raunchy talk ON A LOOP through the whole damn 40 minutes (the sounds coming out of her mouth when her mouth is shown completely closed gave that one away). Nice try Vivid press people.

Porn & Pancakes (The Headline Wrote Itself)

    From CNN.com...

'Porn & Pancakes' fights X-rated addictions
    POSTED: 11:31 a.m. EDT, April 5, 2007

MORTON, Illinois (CNN) -- At 8 o'clock on a recent Saturday morning, more than 250 men gathered at New Life Christian Church in Morton, Illinois, for a breakfast of porn and pancakes.

The event, not as titillating as it sounds, is the brainchild of Craig Gross, founder of the online Christian ministry, XXXChurch.com. Gross concocted the idea of "Porn & Pancakes" as a way to get Christians and church officials to talk about pornography addiction.

It's a problem, he said, that is growing, among Christian communities.

Over the smell of maple syrup and sausage, Gross and other guest speakers -- including a former producer of pornography -- talk to the men about how pornography negatively affects their lives, including relationships with their families and with God. The men who come to hear them speak want to make sure they don't develop a problem themselves.

"A lot of people think Christians sure don't struggle with this," Gross said. "The stats don't lie: Christians are consuming pornography. And to me, it's not a surprise."

A nonscientific poll on XXXChurch.com found that 70 percent of Christians admitted to struggling with porn in their daily lives. Church officials are not immune either. According to Gross, some 76 percent of pastors he surveyed said they, too, have a problem. Gross says he's not surprised so many Christians find themselves struggling with addictions to pornography, considering just how mainstream and easily accessible it has become.

Adult entertainment is an enormous business in the United States, taking in an estimated $12 billion annually. Every second, approximately 28,258 Internet users are viewing pornography, according to the Internet Filter Review. With some 4.2 million pornographic Web sites to explore, many Christians find themselves unable to turn away.

MISS TLC SAYS: Just because you are religious doesn't mean you are immune from common addictions. Drugs, gambling, sex, alcohol, and/or porn can be enjoyed in moderation but become a problem for many. Unfortunately, those living a so-called "clean Christian life" would not want to admit to being addicted to any of the above vices for fear of being shunned in their church community. It's nice to see a group coming forth to help these people to realize that they are only human. However, there are deeper issues at hand.

    (1) Repression. Like Madonna said in "Human Nature", you should 'express yourself, don't repress yourself'. Why is that? Well I wholeheartedly believe that repression only leads to a more intense need for the thing you are depriving yourself of. Even with children, you tell them not to do something, and that becomes the thing they want to do most. As long as your needs are not illegal, you should be able to explore them freely. Otherwise, you may build up an unhealthy obsession with them which could easily lead to addiction if you ever do let yourself have a taste.

    (2) No matter how you feel about organized religion, you can not deny the fact that whatever your denomination, it is essentially a life guide. Religion gives you a structure and backbone of life lessons, morals, and rules. Some people feel that they don't need such a regimented program. Others feel they can't live without it. Some religions are built upon the theory that Jesus will forgive you for anything as long as you accept him in your life as your lord and saviour. Unfortunately there are many lost souls out there who use this as a crutch and only turn to religion after experiencing a really dark stage in their lives. It's a 'get out of jail free' card to some and that's really a shame. I do believe that there are still more people out there that use religion for good rather than those who just take advantage of it, but it's those who shove their agenda down everyone's throat that people remember more. I'm sure you know someone (or it could be you directly) who has said something along the lines of "I don't trust really religious people" or "seriously religious people bother me". The common conception is that those who are constantly speaking about their beliefs are the same ones who are trying their hardest to 'get out of jail free'. So if this is the case (which I'm not saying it is...I'm just playing devil's advocate here), then these Christians in the article above could've turned to their church originally because of a problem that they already knew they had bubbling up inside. Therefore, these addictions could actually be MORE prevalent amongst church-goers, rather than LESS prevalent as the preacher and pastors would have you believe. In other words, I am not surprised that this kind of program is coming to light now.

Tim Gun is still around!!! Hurrah!!!

Tim Still Gunning for Project Runway
    by Gina Serpe
    Thu, 5 Apr 2007 02:26:55 PM PDT

    And they're auf.

Producers may still be in the auditioning process to fill the wannabe designer slots on the fourth season of Project Runway, but their communal "carry on" mentor has already been locked in.

Bravo, along with show producers the Weinstein Company and Miramax, announced Thursday that Tim Gunn would be back to knock another season's worth of straight-talking design sense into the often feuding aspiring couturiers.

"I am thrilled to make it official that I will be back in the workroom for season four of Project Runway," Gunn said. "We are in the midst of casting the designers now and I can already see that it will be another amazing season."

As previously announced Heidi Klum will returns in her capacity as host and judge on the show alongside designer Michael Kors and Elle fashion editor Nina Garcia.

REALITY SHOW NEWS STORY NUMBER TWO

MTV is bringing The Real World Las Vegas cast in its entirety together again to live in the same suite at the Palms Casino to film a reunion tentatively titled The Real World Las Vegas 2 for 6 episodes.

Filming will begin on Monday April 14th and last approximately 3 weeks as it has been 5 years since the cast was first at the Palms Casino suite in 2002.

Trishelle Cannatella was the last holdout of the cast to agree to this reunion as she has been filming several movies as of late.

Originally Bunim-Murray Productions & MTV were trying to have a reunion of the Real World Austin cast but as that fell through, the Las Vegas cast reunion presented itself.

This is NOT the 20th season of The Real World as its not considered a full season but a reunion series.

REALITY SHOW NEWS STORY NUMBER THREE

    MTV Keeps Hills Alive
    by Sarah Hall
    Thu, 5 Apr 2007 11:02:54 AM PDT

The Hills will, like, keep on rolling for a third season.

The Laguna Beach spinoff, featuring the adventures of Hollywood "It Girls" Lauren, Heidi, Whitney and Audrina, is currently MTV's number one show, with an average of 2.7 million viewers tuning in each week.

According to the network's calculations, the series reached a total of 60 million viewers over the course of the second season, and delivered nearly 18 million show-related streams online, including close to 1 million streams of the live After Show finale special.

Because the live show was such a success, MTV plans to repeat the special at the conclusion of the third season, while continuing to air after-show webisodes following each episode.

The third season, which debuts this summer, will have plenty of drama to resolve, as the second season concluded with Heidi Montag moving out of the apartment she shared with Lauren Conrad in order to cohabitate with her shifty boyfriend, Spencer Pratt.

Man oh man. Them country albums almost ALWAYS debut at #1. I'm not surprised by a big first week for Tim McGraw at all. Same goes for those NOW compilations.

However, I actually AM a little surprised by Young Buck. I know he is widely regarded as the favorite G-Unit member by many, but I really feel like 50 Cent's crew has fallen off. Luckily for them, they are still able to push the 6 figures during their first week sales which brings them in for a top 3 debut.

I've heard that Sony and the rest of J.Lo's people are upset by her low debut for her first ever full Spanish language album. I mean, a top 10 showing is still nice, but not being able to push at least 50K units is not. Supposedly the Good Charlotte debut is a big disappointment to the people behind it as well. They usually can sell much more. Maybe they are experiencing a backlash from the hardcore Hilary Duff fans who think that Joel Madden is an ass for dating (and possible getting engaged to) Nicole Richie. But c'mon now...Hilary wasn't sleeping with him...what do you expect? (I'm joking...maybe.)

I'm shocked that Joss Stone is still in the top 10, not surprised that an Elton John Greatest Hits sold well, and Akon and Daughtry are still going strong.

New Summer Movie Trailer: "Live Free or Die Hard"

MISS TLC SAYS: Remember when there were rumors that Britney Spears was actually up for the role as Bruce's daughter? Aw. Those were the days. From the looks of things now, she may be able to try out for "G.I. Jane 2". Interestingly enough, thie producers of this flick really had pop stars on the brain. Not only were there the Britney rumors, but Justin was actually in talks to play Bruce's son AND Jessica Simpson auditioned unsuccessfully for the role of Bruce's daughter as well. (She can be seen on the way to the audition and coming out of the audition in the "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" (2003) episode "Mismatched Threesome".)

    Cynthia Nixon: Bag Lady

"Your good friend has just taken a piece of cake out of the garbage and eaten it. You will probably need this information when you check me into the Betty Crocker Clinic." - Miranda

    DAILY NEWS GOSSIP COLUMNIST

That's no crazy lady rooting through the trash, that's Cynthia Nixon!

A visitor to Riverside Park last Thursday threw out an empty Ziploc bag that had contained some candy. "A woman got up off the bench and fished through the garbage to get my Ziploc," she says. "I was standing there in utter shock that Cynthia Nixon picked my trash out of the garbage. She then turns to me and asks, 'Is it okay to take this?' "

The lady said that it was.

"She then took her son's half-eaten snack and placed it in my used baggie."

Miss Nixon introduced herself and even posed for a picture with her new friend.

MISS TLC SAYS: Holy moly! She's just like Miranda! (Remember when Miranda ate the chocolate cake out of the trash?) Seriously, I can't think of any reason why that would be ok. Really.

    TWWOMT Poll Wrap-Up

The results of the latest The Wonderful World Of Miss TLC Poll are in.........

...and "Grey's Anatomy" is the clear fave for network TV shows. It's no surprise that this medical drama/comedy/romance has so many fans. Between the interesting storylines, the great acting, the presence of "McDreamy" and the great music, "Grey's Anatomy" has definitely proven itself as one of this generation's best.

I know I left this one up there a long time but we've been getting a ton of new readers recently and they all kept voting so I figured 'why not?'. :)

Either way, I am finally done with it and thought it was time to reveal the results.

Coming up close in second place was "House". We sure love our medical shows, don't we? Definitely another great one, "House", takes a fresh approach at the typical hospital drama. An award-winning show in its own right, "House" brought success to the Fox network (who hadn't had a genuine hit besides the reality talent show, "American Idol"), in quite a while.

Third and fourth place was only one percentage point apart with "Desperate Housewives" very narrowly beating "Lost". Either way, the ABC network has many reasons to be happy with their current TV schedule.

    Mel B Gives Birth

This just in from The Sun in the UK...

Mel B gives birth to baby Spice

    April 03, 2007

EX-Spice Girl MEL B has given birth to a baby girl in Santa Monica

The 31-year-old star - who claims EDDIE MURPHY is the father - was taken to hospital in Santa Monica, California, at 5.30pm yesterday local time after her waters broke.

The as-yet-unnamed baby girl was born just after midnight.

Strangely enough, she shares her birthday with her daddy, who was born on April 3, 1961.

A spokeswoman for the singer said: “The baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. Mother and baby are now resting.

"No name has been decided on as yet, and she is purely known as Baby Brown."

The singer - real name Melanie Brown - already has an eight-year-old daughter, PHOENIX CHI, by ex-husband JIMMY GULZAR.

She now faces a paternity battle with Hollywood star Eddie.

The couple had a whirlwind romance last year and Mel claims Murphy is the father of her new baby.

But she was left stunned when Eddie went on a TV show to tell the world their relationship was over, and said he would demand paternity tests.

Melanie insists the Beverly Hills Cop star is the father and is "astonished” by his claims.

“There is absolutely no question that Eddie is the father,” she said.

    # # #

MISS TLC SAYS: I can not WAIT to see Eddie's face when they read the results of this DNA test on Maury Povich... oh wait, they probably won't announce it there. (You know they should though.) Either way, I want to see lil Miss Tracey Edmunds immediate reaction as well.
