A Word From Miss TLC

Dear Readers,

I know I haven't been around much lately, and so I apologize for that. I have received many (MANY) emails inquiring about my scarce presence, and so I will explain some of the things I've been up to in some separate posts throughout the week.

Things have been really busy (isn't that always the case with a true social butterfly?) and I've been taking a lot of meetings and trying to develop a lot of different business ventures at once so that I can perfect my global takeover sooner than later. :) Hopefully, if many of my ideas get off the ground within the next year, Miss TLC can become a huge force on the web, and in the stores after that.

I love and appreciate you all, and hope you continue to visit The Wonderful World Of Miss TLC for a laugh, some news, some entertainment, and an educational spin on what's going on in our world. A LOT has happened in the last couple weeks, and I know the other popular bloggers have already talked it all to death. However, there is something you should always remember and that is (1) Miss TLC always gives you a fresh spin on the news, and (2) I'm not talking out of my a**. I've been there and done that and worked in the entertainment industry for years, so my opinion means more than all them "gossipers-only" opinions. LOL. So that is why I might still bring up certain events a while after they've occurred.

I pride myself on adding a bit of intelligence to my humorous posts, instead of just hitting you with the regular ole' "Britney was out partying again last night", "here's some pics of Lindsay in rehab", and "Omigod! Do you know who Cameron Diaz was spotted kissing this week?". So I hope you continue to enjoy it... and that you will continue to pass along my web address to all your friends, family, and co-workers. ;)

Kan-Tourage

Many have you have asked about Kanye's appearance on "Entourage" this past Sunday. It was GREAT for him because it's major promotion right before the release of his impending album. Not only did he have a couple funny lines, but they also played a track off "Graduation" for about a minute and a half while the credits began to roll.

For those who are wondering, it was "Good Life" featuring T-Pain, and it's definitely a nice breezy, upbeat track (which uses a nice slowed-down sample from one of my favorite Michael Jackson tracks of all time, "PYT" ([cuz you KNOW he shouts out TLC on that one!]}.

She didn't come out the box strong so I wasn't sure how her album would do in the long run, but strong follow-ups to the lukewarm "London Bridges", and "Fergielicious", got her heading towards 3 mil in sales right now. People were really feeling "Glamorous" and now "Big Girls Don't Cry" is huge.

Disney is still kicking ass with both High School Musical, and Hannah Montana. With the addition of Now 25, and the Hairspray soundtrack, innocent young entertainment is all the rage now.

I'm happy to see Talib debut at #2, however, 60K really shouldn't land you a #2 debut. But then again, no one buys records anymore... unless they are put out by Disney I guess.

Kanye vs. 50: A MISS TLC COMMENTARY

So obviously everyone knows about the big rivalry between Kanye West and 50 Cent by now. It's not a major beef, and supposedly any bad feelings were squashed during the NYC Screamfest show when they all performed together, but either way, the public is anxiously awaiting the results of their album sales after their respective third albums are released on September 11, 2007.

In case you haven't heard, Kanye West is releasing his 3rd effort ("Graduation"), and 50 Cent is releasing his 3rd effort ("Curtis"), on the same day. 50 has claimed that he will sell more than Kanye, and if he doesn't, he will "never release another solo album". He said he will continue to produce, and write for others, as well as make guest appearances, but there will be no more 50 Cent albums. In reality, he'll probably stick to that promise as much as Jay-Z stuck to the promise that he was retired after "The Black Album" (and that's a promise he should've kept), but that's neither here nor there.

The real question is ... who WILL sell more?

Well that's a complicated question. And it's definitely one that I can't answer simply. So instead, I have cut and pasted a recent IM conversation that I had on the subject with my business partner and confidante, Mr. Tarik HRH. Honestly... read it... I know it's long but we have some GREAT instant messenger convos. :)

What Are You Wearing?

MISS TLC SAYS: Let me explain. This woman (who looked about 60 years old) stood next to me on a Brooklyn street last weekend. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES. Why you ask? Well those blue tights you see there, were TIGHTS. SEE THROUGH TIGHTS. They were NOT opaque, or meant to be worn like leggings AT ALL. Now that would be one thing if she was wearing a long tunic, or I don't know... SOMETHING TO COVER HER ASS...



MISS TLC SAYS (cont.): ... but NOOOOOOOO. Her ass was out in all its glory for the world to see. I've circled her ass, in case you missed it. Terrible. Do people look in the mirror before they leave their house in the morning or not?

So last week, a clip surfaced of a Beyonce performance overseas where it seems she had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction. In reality, you couldn't see anything. And to prove my point, I've taken several screen shots from the moment in question and posted them below.











You can see how grainy it all was, but that's besides the point. The point is... WHY IS THERE SUCH AN OBSESSION WITH NAKED CELEBRITIES NOWADAYS??? Chicks getting out of the car with the paparrazzi practically shoving the camera between their legs, starlets on the red carpet with loose tops experiencing nipple slips, guys and gals sunbathing nude, and costume mishaps on stage.

CARES???

Honestly, most of them look just like you and I... well I look better, but that's besides the point. The point is, unless there is something grossly bizarre about said celebrity's naked body (i.e., Cisco Adler), then what is so fascinating about it at all? In this age of widely available sex tapes, and everyone and their mother posing for Playboy and foreign fashion mags half-naked, what's the big deal? Get over it already.

Hot Boots

MISS TLC SAYS: This is kind of a combined "Hot Boots" and "Me In A Cab" feature because I snapped this pic IN a cab. Can't ya tell? ;) These are a cute lil ankle boot I picked up in a department store last winter. I especially liked them because (a) they have a 4 inch heel, and (b) they have a cute lil bow detail in the back.

Counting The Reasons To Love The New Cover Of US Weekly



We’re going to count the reasons to love the new cover of US Weekly. But before we do that, you need the backstory of what happened. Here’s the deal: This college kid you see on the cover was driving around at night with his friends. They happened upon Britney’s new video shoot and stopped to gawk. They were called in to be extras and Britney thought this guy looked bang-able, so she invited him back to her hotel pool after the shoot. Add a few drinks, take off a few tops, and next thing you know the dude’s totally making out with a single mother. Oh, and he definitely copped a feel. “Honestly, we were hugging and kissing and I did feel her boobs and they felt great,” he told US. “They definitely seem like they are real.” Yup, this guy touched mom boob! Boo-yah!

OK, now on to counting the things that make this cover amazing:

1. The headline “My Twisted Night With Brit”
Well, as we just covered above, basically all that happened was Britney got drunk, went skinny dipping and kissed a stranger. Is that really twisted? Maybe if you’re a Mormon. Otherwise, it’s just something a lot of people did in college. But hell, calling it “twisted” will sell more magazines, so let’s go with it.

2. The sub-hed that calls Spears “topless, drunk and lonely”
Those are the three best adjectives I’ve ever seen strung together. Every magazine story should start like that.

3. Britney’s awesomely forced smile
It’s as if she has some sense that this photo may soon wind up on supermarket shelves everywhere. In her head, you know she was like: “Let’s see, I’m the world’s most photographed single mother seducing a college student in a hotel pool. Oh, plus I’m topless, drunk and lonely. This may come back to haunt me.”

4. Britney is wearing sunglasses
Despite the fact that the picture was taken at 2 a.m.

5. Britney is wearing a hat
Despite the fact that she’s topless. So Britney is there wearing nothing but panties and a hat. Oh, and sunglasses. Classy!

6. This college guy looks like a young Jim Carrey
Seriously, it’s eerie. Britney may have been making out with this guy, but in her mind, you know she was picturing herself making out with Ace Ventura.

7. The inserted picture of Britney’s crying son
It’s as if Jayden is witnessing his mommy’s “twisted” romp with the Pet Detective and it’s breaking his tiny heart. Plus check out the caption: The kid was out at 10:30! Britney is such a bad mom, she keeps her son out past bed time. And that makes him cry! Seriously, what could Britney be doing with her baby out at 10:30 at night?

Britney Spears romped in a pool with a complete stranger just hours after her music video meltdown.

The pictures in today’s Sun Newspaper show the crazed singer pawing at student Mike Encinias soon after sobbing uncontrollably at the shoot for her new single.

Onlookers watched in shock as Brit - who divorced KEVIN FEDERLINE days later - stripped at a hotel pool.

Brit swigged from a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and downed Mojito cocktails before flashing her breasts and playing a game of truth or dare.

American Mike kept his trunks on as straggly-haired Brit - who had a 1999 hit with Crazy - groped him.

Mike was an extra on the video shoot and says she later tried to seduce him in her hotel suite - while wearing nothing but a pair of pink pants.

He said: “I went in and found Britney lying on the bed with her knees up and just a pair of pink panties on.

“She was looking like she was ready - and I wanted to finalise it.”

Britney and Mike had been passionately kissing in the pool of downtown LA’s Standard Hotel just a few hours earlier.

The singer had pulled the plug on the pole-dancing shoot for Give Me More after breaking down and sending the crew home.

Britney’s assistant hand-picked Mike and a group of male pals to go to her hotel for drinks by the pool.

Mike explained: “Britney was drinking Mojitos and she’d been drinking some Jack Daniel’s. Suddenly she shocked everyone by just stripping out of her top.”

“She went into the pool topless - her boobs were exposed and she had a drink in her hand and a hat on with sunglasses.”

Mike says he kissed Britney after her assistant told him the singer wanted to “make out” with him.

He said: “She straddled me and put her legs around me.

“When I started kissing her I did everything in my power - from my previous experience of kissing girls - not to mess it up.

“Britney had more drinks - she was having Jack and more Mojitos in between me feeling her up, her boobs, and kissing her on her neck.

“Her body was very nice. It was sexual and sensual kissing. It took some effort to perfect.

“She is a great kisser - I’d actually say a phenomenal kisser.”

Mike was invited back to Britney’s suite once the party was over at 4am.

He was planning to spend the rest of the night in her bed — until one of his friends collapsed and nearly drowned from all the booze he had downed.

Britney’s bodyguards stepped in and ordered Mike to take his mate home.

Mike added: “In the end we had to say our goodbyes.”
