Now Here's A Spooky Costume For Ya...
Yahoo.com posted a cute montage of "easy TV looks to use as Halloween costumes" (or something to that effect) and chose Rachel Zoe as one of their ideas. "Wow. She must have been thrilled!", you say. Not quite. Look at the way she's described. I would have loved to see her raisin face when she read this one...
PIC THEY USED:
DESCRIPTION:Shut it down on Halloween night by channeling your inner fashion diva with a "Rachel Zoe" haute hippie costume. To get the foundation of Rachel's look down you must get a straggly, dirty blonde wig, tons of mascara and eyeliner, bronzer, and a pair of bug-eyed sunglasses. Then, throw on a '70s-style top with some wide-leg pants, or a printed frock with black tights. Finally pile on the gold accessories. Make sure every finger is adorned with a giant ring and your wrists should be dragging from the weight of your multiple bangles. And if you're not drowning in fur, you're NOT Rachel Zoe yet, so go bananas with the faux pelts. You can achieve all of this with a simple run to the nearest Forever 21 store. Complete your Rachel look by beginning every sentence with "I die." Level of Difficulty: Easy
MISS TLC SAYS: Ouch. Straggly, dirty blonde hair??? Perhaps it would do her some good to NOT "allegedly" lie about her age. This is NOT a good look for 37... however, she might look hot for a 57-year old...

Because you know you love it.......
Last night's Gossip Girl continued to satisfy. The Chuck Bass / "Womanizer" promo they played during was adorable:
And then of course the final scene was hot (considering all the Chuck/Blair sex scenes are):
*Sigh* Chuck is a very Miss TLC-esque kinda guy. Sarcastic, sexy, and loves to play games. ;)

The Death of Hip-Hop (According to David Alan Grier)
MISS TLC SAYS: "When did 'Fight the Power', become, 'Wait 'till you see my dick'?" Hear hear!!! (And when will men learn that talking about your dick like that only tells a woman that you really have nothing to talk about anyway. It's corny as hell and pointless. Just show me you're a great kisser, don't tell me about it; because in my experience, those who say 'i'm an amazing kisser' prior to kissing you, aren't even good, much less amazing.)

I Heart Kristen Wiig
Kristen Wiig is really off the hook.
She's been funny for quite some time (her turn in "Knocked Up" was my favorite character in that movie), but lately, she's SHINING on SNL. The web world was aflutter last week with this Sister Act/Lawrence Welk Show clip:
And now, her portrayal of "The Crazy McCain Rally Lady" on last night's special election-edition-Thursday-night-SNL-Weekend-Update was so spot on, I was crying laughing watching it this morning. I've pasted some pics below. A link to the whole episode (only 20 minutes long in total) can be found at the bottom.

Eminem's New Buzz Single "I'm Having A Relapse"

Listen to Eminem's new track here!
MISS TLC SAYS: He definitely sounds like he's back to his old crazy self. I guess this is a sign that his long-rumored 5th album truly is on its way. I'm not sure if I'm interested, BUT, 2 good things I've heard about it so far - (1) Dre is producing most of it; and (2) He's turned down Wayne on a collabo.

* I expected T.I. to come in at #1. However, I didn't expect it to be with such a low number. *Sigh* I guess I can't really complain anymore about the demise of album sales, seeing as the entire U.S. economy is faltering so.
* I'm happy to see a lot more Hip-Hop/R&B albums in the top 20 this week. There was a bit too much Disney/child-ish/pop-y stuff for my taste for a while. I like to see a diverse chart, but I want to also see a strong showing for my favorite kind of music. With T.I., Jennifer Hudson, Ne-Yo, Robin Thicke, Lil Wayne, Jazmine Sullivan, and Young Jeezy, we are definitely well represented.
* Be on the lookout for my Miss TLC mini-album reviews for Jen, Robin, and Ne-Yo coming soon.

A Miss TLC Note of Nutrition
One of the biggest problems in overeating for most of my friends and family is....... cheese. It's oh so yummy, comes in so many different flavors and varieties, and tastes good on anything. But it's fattening. So it's nice to see that some companies make smaller sticks and 1 oz. or 100 calorie pieces and packs to keep you on track. Weight Watchers has now introduced mini-packs of shredded cheese which I thought was so fantastically smart when I stumbled upon in it a grocery store a couple weeks ago. Adding shredded cheese to salads, dips, nachos, and anything really, can easily be where you fall overboard. "Hey, it's just little shreds." Well those shreds add up, so I'm happy to see new products like this being introduced into the marketplace.
Just make sure you only allow yourself to open one pack per sitting. :)
*** To view past editions of "A Miss TLC Note of Nutrition", search for it by entering the title in quotes in the white search box at the top of this blog. Feel free to do the same with the name of any of our other recurring features as well. Believe me, it's worth it. Search is your friend. :) ***
Interested In The Biggie Movie?
Well you can watch the trailer here:
MISS TLC SAYS: I actually think it looks 10x better than what I expected. Then again, anything would probably look hot flashing across the screen while "Hypnotize" is busting in the back. :) And then of course, there is the case that being from Brooklyn, I can't help but get all psyched up seeing one of BK's finest get his time to shine once again...
Word On The Street...
...is that the ClimaX show was such a crazy success that they are bound to do others...be on the lookout.
Designers Have Really Run Out Of Ideas
The new trend in shoes are unconventional heels. I saw them first on the new Pradas (making heels out of flowers and misshapen swirls). Now there are lightning bolts on Dsquared heels (seen on Rihanna, Eva Mendes, and Beyonce), and guns on Chanel pumps (seen on Madonna just this week). *Sigh* Check 'em out below:

MISS TLC SAYS: I'm sorry folx but even as a shoe enthusiast, I must admit, these are all just silly-looking. They are way too ultra-trendy to be cool, and they are nothing but a novelty to me. NOT a good shoe investment. They might look cute in a photo shoot, or like you are trying to make a statement on the red carpet, but honestly, they are not sexy or special or unique - try a vintage Manolo or Louboutin for that. These just look like you are trying too hard.
Speaking Of Trying Too Hard...

*Loud Sigh*
I know she's working off her look in her new video for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" but it's just NOT working. In case you haven't seen that vid yet, click below:
MISS TLC SAYS: Now I don't like the song, so I understand that I'm biased to begin with, BUT, this piece could've been SOOOOOOO much stronger if she didn't revive her 'pushing way too hard and moving way too erraticly choreography' from the "Deja Vu" video, and didn't use the classic three ladies dancing look, with two other ladies who weren't in time with her. I couldn't help but concentrate on the others' sloppy moves because they were hardly ever in sync.
Beyonce needs to take a page from Gwen Verdon and her girls here on how to make a trio of chicks look precise, sharp, talented, and mesmerizing:
(Of course that's not the original song those ladies were dancing to in the 60s. It was really "Mexican Breakfast", which you can view here if interested. Someone just synched it to "Walk It Out" as a joke last year to show how the moves still worked and how Fosse was ahead of his time. Shoot, chicks like Beyonce are obviously still trying to re-create the vibe, but she's just trying too hard.)

A Project Runway Wedding
So the finale will be Kenley, Korto, and Leeanne. Now as I've told you people a million times in the past (well I guess really only 4 times considering this is only the 5th season), the desiger who came in 4th place (in this case Jerrell), also gets to show at Bryant Park. He's just not up for the prize money and final place title. The show has to do that to throw off anyone attending or viewing the "Project Runway" fashion shows online considering Fashion Week happens before the actual final show airs. So you never have to feel too bad for #4.
Anyway... let's just take a moment to comment on the wedding dresses each finalist designed, shall we?
Jerrell's dress did look very messy:
However, it didn't look half bad coming down the runway at the actual Bryant Park show:

And I definitely can appreciate where he was coming from with the asymetrical silhouette:
Kenley's bridesmaid dress was so perfectly adorable, I want one to wear TODAY:
However, even though I personally liked her wedding dress (and not for nothing would wear it myself), Michael Kors was RIGHT ON THE MONEY when he told her it was a knock-off of McQueen. To say she doesn't view collections is ignorant, and a stupid decision if true, because you must at least check that your designs don't look exactly like someone else's. Below you can see the Alexander McQueen dresses in question:
Korto's wedding dress was a straight-up mess (and not at all what I would expect from her):
And Leanne's dress was pure perfection:
We shall see who wins on October 15th!!!
Guess What? "The Changeling" Premiere Wasn't Just An Event To Debut Angie's New Tattoos
Of course the celebrity media couldn't stop talking about Angelina's stunning return to (physical) form at this week's "The Changeling" premiere. We heard that her body was back to its pre-baby splendor. We heard that she has two new tattoos which represent the new twins. We heard that Clint Eastwood thinks she has the most beautiful face in the world. Um... but what about the movie?
As you know, Miss TLC always hooks you up with everything in one place so you stay informed. So here you go... watch the trailer here:
The story is SADLY based on a true crime and scandal that occured in California in the 20s. You can read about it here. But DON'T if you plan to see the movie and want to be surprised of how it all turned out!!!
MISS TLC: It actually looks like it's going to be a great one. I'm sure she'll be nominated for an Oscar and so will Clint for directing it (again). :)
A Miss TLC Medical Minute
Umm... is this really the kinda nonsense we are eating as Americans? Are we in that much of a rush that we need to wrap a FROZEN pancake around a FROZEN sausage to stuff in our mouth on the go?!?!?!? Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. I mean honestly, how appetizing does this look:
And now for the revolting close-up:
MISS TLC SAYS: Whole grain cereal is your best bet if you are in a rush. Shoot, grab a piece of fruit and a granola bar if you need something for on the go. But don't pollute your body with "artificially flavored" nonsense like this first thing in the morning. Now please excuse me while I go throw up from the sight of these pics. LOL.
Britney Spear's Return
MISS TLC SAYS: Looks interesting. I'm all for a Britney comeback. I feel bad for her because I truly think the combination of the predatory public, paparrazi, media, her family, her handlers, and her existing mental condition all led to her extreme, and often sad, downfall. Hopefully her new album and video does really well and the "crazy Britney" will all just be part of a distant past.
You can listen to her new single "Womanizer" below:
*** The video debuts tonight on ABC's 20/20 at 10pm EST. (Remember when videos used to debut on network TV back in the day? I loved that. Nowadays everything leaks and it's all over before the artist and record label even want you to see it. It takes something "special" out of the process. I like this better. Get the anticipation up.)***
Lastly, her new web page supposedly launches at 7pm EST tonight. Here's the current screengrab:
