Does anyone truly believe that Britney has come out of her mentally unstable state, and really wants to re-start her career after seeing her breakdown during the "For The Record" documentary on MTV tonight???
I mean seriously... this was a really sad clip. This girl is quite LITERALLY crying out for help. Hopefully, it meant something to her "handlers" when they watched the finished product.

I Heart Blizzard Man
MISS TLC SAYS: Seriously, I am not a fan of T-Pain, but he was REALLY funny in this too. Luda rocked it, Kenan's faces were hilarious, and Andy... well you know Andy.

A Miss TLC New Artist Alert: honeyhoney

A while back I had the pleasure of attending an intimate spotlight show for an up-and-coming previously-indie artist, honeyhoney. I was pleased to see when I arrived that (1) the band seemed personable, stylish, and laidback; (2) the lead singer was the only female and very attractive; and (3) that amongst the standard instruments, a violin and banjo sat by the lead singer's feet. [Sidenote, I found out afterwards that the only true members of the band are the aforementioned lead female singer, Suzanne Santo, and the guitarist, Ben Jaffe. The others were their backing musicians.]
By the second song, they had me. Their sound can probably be described best as folksy, bluesy, indie rock. It's sexy and it jams and it's relatable. Andddd they have Keifer Sutherland behind them. Yep. The man of "24" fame. Keifer and his business partner Judd have a production company called Ironworks Music, and apparently they financed honeyhoney's previous EP release and signed them to a furnishing deal. Even more interesting is that Keifer directed the video (and starred in it as well) for their lead single "Little Toy Gun". I LOVE THIS SONG (in addition to a few others that they performed live at that same show I attended months back). Thankfully, all of those gems are on their new full-length disc, "First Rodeo", which was released on November 4th.
You can watch their Keifer Sutherland-directed video (in which he also makes an appearance) below:
You can buy the full-length album here.
Standouts: "Little Toy Gun" and "Give Yourself To Me"
"Pushing Back Your Album Is NEVER A Good Sign": A Miss TLC Commentary
According to MTV.com, Jay-Z's "Blueprint 3" album is being pushed back and will not see the light of day in 2008. I'm not surprised by this considering "Jockin Jay-Z" never picked up any speed on the charts and in airplay, "History" (not a supposed BP3 track, but more of a random street track) sucks, and "Swagger Like Us", as successful as it was, was NOT his track.
It also must be said that as classic as "The Blueprint" was, "The Blueprint 2" S-U-C-K-E-D, so I wouldn't be surprised if Jay's just making sure "The Blueprint 3" doesn't continue that downward spiral and come out even worse (thereby killing off a little of the classic grandeur of the name in connection to Jay-Z).
In other "push back" news, according to PageSix.com, Eminem's new album ALSO will not be seeing the light of day in 2008. Again, I am not surprised. As much as I can't stand the new trend in artists' making sure to release something every year, or for some actually trying to release multiple albums in one year, it's harder when you wait. Years ago, an artist could wait 2-3 years in between albums, and still return to the same fanfare. Nowadays you run the risk of being forgotten. The reason is that albums used to be chock full of singles, so the labels were able to "work" them for quite a long time (releasing no less than 4 singles and videos). But now, artists are lucky to get one big hit per disc, and so it's "on to the next!" faster than you can say Slim Shady. Anyhoo, the pressure's on for any artist who steps out of the limelight for too long, so I can understand Em's anxiety and paranoia about his own relevance at this point. Good luck though Marshall! I hope for the best!

Listen to the T-Pain feat. Justin Timberlake "Can't Believe It (Remix)" And Cry...

...because vocoders have now started infecting REAL singers!!!!!
It's one thing for non-singers (i.e., T-Pain, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West) to love the use of Auto-Tune Vocoders, but now Justin Timberlake has fallen prey to this dumb and annoying trend?!?!?!
Oh brother.
You can listen to the track here.
THANKFULLY, T-Pain says at the end of the track that "Auto Tune is on its' way out". I'd like to know what he thinks that means for him then... hmm...

A Miss TLC Note of Nutrition: Starbucks Edition
Everyone knows I love me some Starbucks. However, I am not oblivious to the fact that a lot of their yummy treats are full of calories and sugar. I am a nutrition freak, so even though I fall victim to a high calorie drink here or there, I always look for the healthier options within that gorgeous store of greatness.
Autumn is my favorite season, and anything "spiced" or "pumpkin-flavored" usually gets me. :) Therefore, their Pumpkin Spiced Lattes are usually a staple of my Fall mornings (except that I get them with no-fat milk and no whipped cream). The thing that I stay away from is their pumpkin flavored pastries, because they are very high in calorie and sugar content. Check out the cals below on the Pumpkin Scone and Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin. 500 calories each. Yowza.
But there are plenty of newly introduced healthier options in the pastry case at the famous coffeehouse. Check some out below:
They have introduced a multi-grain roll, oatmeal, a berry stella, a fruit and nut bar, and an apple bran muffin as the "smarter choices" for Fall. The fruit and nut bar especially is delicious and nutritious (at only 150 calories and chock full of seeds, dried fut, and nuts and I've had a few so I know personally that it's yummy). Plus, it's a MUCH better option than the traditional "fruit and dry roasted nuts" packet that you may have gotten near the register thinking you were making a healthy choice. But you're really not. That tiny little package (I propped it up next to a CD before taking the pic so that you could really see how small it is), is almost 400 calories:
And now they have even added crudite trays (cut veggies with a pesto dip), a high protein breakfast plate (consisting of a whole wheat mini-bagel, hard boiled egg, peanut butter, and a couple other items), and whey protein Vivanno drinks (which I assumed would be very sweet and high in calories like their other mixed drinks, but it's not - they use natural ingredients the chocolate one I like is really only sweetened by a whole banana).

She's A Doll
Random Question
Just how exactly does this woman expect us to believe she is almost 30, as opposed to almost 40 (or even almost 50)?!?!?!?!?
(For those of you who have no idea who that is, it's Kim from Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta". It's a total trainwreck of a show, and so of course I was pulled into watching an episode or two. She claims on the show that she is 29 years old AND has been getting Botox since she's 24. Hmm.......)
*Sigh* Oh, Mimi.
What did I tell you all about how bad open-toes boots looked???
And not for nothing, but I'm not even sure those boots fit her...
...don't they look oddly gigantic??? I'm just sayin...

* People are going CRAZY for this AC/DC album. I'm sure the guys have been living on Cloud 9 for the past two weeks. Their first new album in years debuted at # 1 last week with 784,288 units sold (which is almost unheard of in this current economic climate). THEN they followed it up this week with another # 1 spot appearance, and an additional 270,923 sold. Therefore, they have gone platinum in two weeks. Congrats.
* Pink and John Legend both debuted respectfully so I'm happy for them (they both led with hot singles). Lady Gaga? Not so much. Guess "Just Dance" didn't have people as excited as Interscope had hoped.
* Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, and Toby Keith are keeping the country market booming with their three albums in the top 20.
* I gotta be honest, I'm pretty shocked that T.I. is only out for 5 weeks, and he's already topped one million units in sales, but then Ne-Yo's out for 7 weeks, and has only topped 500K units in sales.
* Be on the lookout for Miss TLC Music Mondays (starting November 10th) including album reviews, new artist alerts, and more!
That Ridiculously Hot Dress Blair Was Wearing A Couple Weeks Ago???

You know which one I mean... the one she had on when she planned to tell Chuck she loved her?
Yep, well I got the goods on it for you all.
(Actually I was just looking for myself, but I figured I'd let you all know too. ;))
It's the "Zola Dress" by Temperley London and you can buy it here. (I know $777 is a lot to many, but that's the sale price which is practically half off!!!) :)
And while we're on the subject of Blair's ridiculously hot dresses, how 'bout the one she wore at the start of this past week's episode??? Yep, the red satin one.
Well here's the goods on that one for you (and me) as well...
It's from Catherine Malandrino, and it's also on sale (for a more reasonable price of $297) now. You can buy it here.
Lastly... just because I love "Gossip Girl" so much, I'm posting this cute video that a fan put together of Ed and Leighton a/k/a Chuck and Blair. I also just love it because they used music from one of my favorite groups, The Bird & The Bee.
(And no, the "fan" who put that clip together is NOT me. LOL. I don't even get a minute to myself on top of my day job, and my night job (which is maintaining this site and building the Miss TLC brand! get your mind out of the gutter!).
"Me Against The Music" Lives!!! :)
A Miss TLC Movie Alert: Cadillac Records
MISS TLC SAYS: Looks hot... except for Beyonce. C'mon now. What is this? Her second take at "Dreamgirls"??? "Daddy, please get me an Oscar!" "I'll do another old singer so I can seem serious and intense!" *Sigh* Whatever chick. She needs to stick to singing cuz her acting makes ME feel uncomfortable. Anyway, me lovey Mos Def, and he's a GREAT actor (one of the few who can successfully rock movies and music), and I've worked in the music industry for years so I love to watch (and read) anything about the history of it, so I will definitely see this one.
