Click here to watch her new vid (which was apparently leaked yesterday before Gaga was ready to debut it to the world).
Here are some screen shots in case you don't feel like clicking into it right now:

MISS TLC SAYS: Perez Hilton calls it "epic". Hmm. Really? What do you think? Send me emails or comments here cuz I'm truly curious what you all think about this video and Lady Gaga in general.

Taking A Break Near Columbus Circle?
...then you should check out the Time Warner Center for some free and interesting amusement. I've written about this fantastic building before on my site because there's just so much in one place. Restaurants, bars, a Whole Foods Market, a Bouchon bakery, a Williams Sonoma, and many other popular stores (including Sephora, Coach, Borders, J. Crew, and many more).
The great thing is that outside of Borders on the 2nd floor, there is an open space that usually houses some sort of exhibit advertising a promotion, art installation, new product, or various photos and memorabilia that's on sale somewhere nearby.
Last week as I was walking through, I happened upon this beautiful glass sculpture:
I just had to snap a pic for y'all and also record the sales info and artist name:
MISS TLC SAYS: I love bright orange. This would be so hot as a statement piece in anyone's home.
The Times Warner Center is located in Columbus Circle with entrances on 59th & 8th.
"The Blueprint 3" Is Anti-Auto-Tune (Thank Goodness!!!)
Excerpted from an MTV News article...
Kanye revealed that he and Jay went back in and made some alterations to B3 since they first started.
"We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album," West said, "to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune!
"It doesn't matter to me," Kanye laughed about Jay not wanting to incorporate the sound that is featured so heavily on Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak. "It's music; it's just sonics. I like Auto-Tune so I do it, but you want the other thing — like you'll wear a suit to a wedding and gym shoes to a basketball game. I think it's a perfect moment for Jay to provide some gym shoes to a basketball game right now."
MISS TLC SAYS: I would've been furious if Jay was sucked into the Auto-Tune fold. I'm glad to hear this news... although Kanye's explanation of his decision was a bit off.
Me In A Cab
MISS TLC SAYS: Hmm. Solange is doing OP Walmart ads? Ok. (I'm really not hating... people gotta eat in this recession and Walmart's actually doing very well right now.)
For past editions of "Me In A Cab", just type that whole phrase (with quotes) into the search bar at the top of this page. Each of those posts shows a pic taken by Miss TLC in a cab with a random thought to go with it. Believe me, it's worth it. ;)

MISS TLC SAYS: Interesting. Plugging your album while claiming you are "not a monster". Hmm.

Gorgeous
I must say, I thought Cameron Diaz' current Vogue cover was just OK. She's one of those people who can look really well put together sometimes (like in the movie "The Holiday"), and like a wreck at other times. For that reason, I definitely don't refer to her as "SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CELEB!!!" in general terms like many others do.

* No surprise that Eminem came in at #1 this week. 600K was a HUGE debut too, so congratulations to Slim. He knows how to launch a new release, even after being MIA for years. Congrats to his whole team for a really smart and creative build-up that definitely paid off in the end.
* This week was a big week for UMG (Universal Music Group) rap in general. Interscope released Eminem's "Relapse", Def Jam released Method Man/Redman's "Blackout 2", and Universal Motown released Busta Rhymes' "Back On My B.S.". Everyone knew Em would win that sales race, but I think even Meth & Red themselves are slightly surprised that they edged out Buss. Don't get me wrong. I love 'em all. However, Busta had way more of a radio/video buzz leading into his album's release, as opposed to Meth/Red. That may have turned around and bit him in the ass though, because he released too many singles b4 the album dropped and so fans may feel like they've heard it all already.
* Other than rap, there were a slew of other high profile releases this week. Tori Amos hit the scene again with a respectable debut week, Dane Cook released a comedy album, and Kenny Chesney released a Greatest Hits package.
* And just in case you thought all of these new releases knocked the usual gang of Hannah Montana, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Rascal Flatts out of the top spots, think again. They may have shifted a bit, but they're all still holding on and selling strong. :)
* Total album sales exploded by almost a million unit increase this week. (Clearly that's due to "Relapse", but we'll pretend like people are back to FLOODING record stores. LOL.) Either way, it's nice to see some big releases from returning artists (Tori Amos, Method Man/Redman, Busta, Eminem, and Green Day) getting people into the stores again. Keep it up my darlings. ;)

* No surprise that Green Day came in at #1 this week. Anything over 200K units is a really great opening nowadays too so congrats to them. H-O-W-E-V-E-R the really crazy thing here is that they didn't have a full week of sales factored into that number. Albums are almost always released on Tuesdays, and then the full week's sales are announced the following Wednesday. In some cases though, an album is allowed to be released "out of cycle". This can happen for specific marketing reasons to coincide with a particular date or event or concert OR it can be allowed in order to counteract rampant bootlegging (as was the case with certain Eminem and 50 Cent albums years ago). Green Day's latest album came out on Friday, so that 214K copies were sold since then. Therefore, if they were logging a full week, they would've sold even more (maybe even double).
* Hannah is STILL in second place. *Sigh* (In two months, she's sold 900K copies, so it's pretty much in the bag that she'll go platinum with this release, especially since she's still going strong at #2.)
* Former Dipset Prez Cam'ron returned to the charts this week with a #3 bow. He did not sell much at all (around 43K), but I'm sure he (and his fans) will tell you that he's doing AMAZINGLY well since he releases his albums independently now. This is true... to an extent. Cam'ron yapped about his overhead vs. album sales profit margin ad nauseum around the time of his last album release (when he was being called out by 50 Cent and his crew for being broke). To put things into perspective, that release (which was also independent) sold 113,608 units in its debut back in 2006. So that's a HUGE drop-off. But then again, he's been MIA for a while, and albums are even easier to obtain for free online than they were 3 years ago (unfortunately). Make your own assessment about the health and staying power of his album sales strength.
* Paul Wall is another example that can be used in the "admit it, you fell off" vs. "no, it's just a much different economy and industry right now" debate. He took the world by storm years ago by shocking the charts with a #1 debut in the 6-figure unit sales range. However, his last album only debuted with 62,193 in sales (still, not bad). Now, his latest debuted in 15th place with only 21,647 in sales (still not terrible, but a definite decline). I'm not hating, I'm just reporting reality to my readers.
* Total album sales went back to dropping this week (by 200K). But since we increased sales by 300K last week, we're still up (that's a gamblers reasoning for ya). Ha! ;)

An Animated Tribute 2 "The Real Housewives of NYC"
MISS TLC SAYS: Brilliant. (And SO true to form!) ;)
TWWOMT Poll Results: Reality Shows
Here were the results of our latest poll:
So you people still really like "American Idol", huh? I really only followed the 2nd and 3rd seasons closely, and then watched one or two episodes here and there of the 4th and 5th seasons. I don't even know what season they are up to now because I haven't seen even ONE episode in a couple years. As with everything, I figure that if Miss TLC isn't on top of it, no one cares anymore. Ha. That's clearly not the case anymore with AI. So go 'head AI, keep hustling and raking in that major advertising money!
Second place went to the "For The Love Of Ray J". Wow. A new VH-1 reality show beat out a recurring VH-1 reality show ("I Love Money")? Ok. I happen to agree with that one. I don't watch "I Love Money" at all, but I did follow Ray J's quest, since the girls were entertaining, but less trashy and ugly than on the other "dating" shows on that network.
And lastly, the bronze medal went to "Ace of Cakes". Yay. I love the Food Network so I like that they got a nod here.
In the end, I'm majorly surprised that "Project Runway", "Top Chef", and "The Real Housewives of Orange County" did so poorly on this poll. Do you guys not watch Bravo at all??? I happen to think they do the reality game really well.
Either way, thanx for voting! We do use these polls to gauge our reader's interests, and to help shape future posts.
MAKE SURE TO VOTE IN THE NEW TWWOMT POLL GOING LIVE TODAY!!!

Ed Westwick Is SO Heathcliff
Our favorite "Gossip Girl" character/villain-with-a-heart Chuck Bass, has been cast as Heathcliff in the latest version of "Wuthering Heights". Can you say hot?

MISS TLC SAYS: Wuthering Heights is one of the best of the best when it comes to tormented passionate love (and if you know anything about Miss TLC, you know she loves her some tormented passionate love). Honestly, it's one of the most enveloping, entrancing love stories ever written.

Tell Me You Love Me.....
An extended promo for this coming Monday's season finale of "Gossip Girl"...
MISS TLC SAYS: I thought they gave up the idea that the kids on GG would actually want to find out WHO GG really is, but I guess not. Supposedly they try to figure it out and "take Gossip Girl down" in the finale. We shall see... HOWEVER, I'm much more excited about the Blair/Chuck reunion. My inside sources have told me that he DOES in fact tell her he loves her this time around (fingers crossed). :)

* Wow. I like Chrisette Michele, but she's not exactly a blockbuster seller. Honestly, I don't think she ever expected to be #1, but considering how little you need to sell to lock in that spot lately, she got it. And good for her. However, something tells me that in a couple weeks when Eminem, Busta Rhymes, and Method Man/Redman debut, the numbers will be a lot higher up there (at least I hope they will be).
* Ciara did OK, but debuted pretty low considering she's... well Ciara. I mean, 80K is not really that much, when a random newcomer like Asher Roth just debuted with upwards of 60K a few weeks ago. Also, to look at it another way, Ciara's last album debuted in 2006 with 338K units in first week sales! Granted, that was in 2006, and the industry was in better shape then, but still!
* Speaking of Asher Roth (and Rick Ross). Both were big hip-hop debuts a few weeks ago, and now they've both fallen (though Rick not by so much). Asher has gone from #5 to #14 to #52, and Rick has only dropped from #1 to #4 to #8. And looking at it another way, Asher has sold about 102K units in total so far, and Rick's sold about 243K.
* And in comparison to another high profile rap release, Rick's done REALLY well. Jadakiss came out 5 weeks ago (as opposed to Rick's 3), and he's only sold 246K in total so far.
* Total album sales jumped by 300K this week. Keep going!!! ;)

Kelly Cries On The NYC Housewives Reunion
MISS TLC SAYS: I really hope this isn't true, because no one should have to deal with obsessive attention that they don't want. H-O-W-E-V-E-R, Kelly's behavior throughout the whole season was erratic at best. She came off very fake, phony, and completely out-of-touch, time and time again. The clip above comes off the same way Gretchen's (from the OC Housewives) did when she cried during the reunion after being accused of dating someone else during and soon after her fiancee Jeff passed away. We all know how that one turned out (various pictures hit the internet showing Gretchen and the alleged boyfriend kissing and all over each other with Gretchen's engagement ring clearly showcased), so I'm sure the true Kelly story will come to light soon enough as well. Although, my inside sources have hinted that there will be another NYC Housewives season... without Kelly.
This Is Why You Can't Depend On Wikipedia.....
Excerpted from Yahoo Tech.....
When Dublin university student Shane Fitzgerald posted a poetic but phony quote on Wikipedia, he said he was testing how our globalized, increasingly Internet-dependent media was upholding accuracy and accountability in an age of instant news.
His report card: Wikipedia passed. Journalism flunked.
The sociology major's made-up quote — which he added to the Wikipedia page of Maurice Jarre hours after the French composer's death March 28 — flew straight on to dozens of U.S. blogs and newspaper Web sites in Britain, Australia and India.
MISS TLC SAYS: You've all heard the old adage: you can't believe everything you read. So why don't people realize that? I've been telling people for the longest that Wikipedia is not entirely true. Not all of the information is verified, and regular ole' everyday people are sending a lot of it in for posting (not historians, professors, and experts in the field). In fact, I have had people call various music companies where I've worked through the years to argue with me that artists are signed to labels that they weren't because "that's what is written on Wikipedia". Don't get me wrong. Misinformation could be printed in hard copy encyclopedias and dictionaries as well, but the chance is much slimmer. Those types of texts are sent to editors and fact-checkers before printing.
Me In A Cab
Seriously??? Seriously??? Mr. Christian Audigier's infiltrated Times Square???
MISS TLC SAYS: Yuck. [FYI - If you wanna live a "Miss TLC-ish kinda life", you can NOT EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER rock an Ed Hardy/Christian Audigier A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!!] Talk about tacky.
For past editions of "Me In A Cab", just type that whole phrase (with quotes) into the search bar at the top of this page. Each of those posts shows a pic taken by Miss TLC in a cab with a random thought to go with it. Believe me, it's worth it. ;)

Sex Ed. = Self-Esteem - Pt. 4: Cassie's Naked Picture Controversy
In a world where people are rewarded (and in no way embarrassed, blackballed, or shunned) for "leaked" nude pics, sex tapes, and more; you can't help but remain skeptical when another B, C, or D-level "star" falls "victim" to another computer hacking, house robbery, or betrayal from an ex-lover.
Years ago, such incidents were referred to as scandals. However in the new internet age, they are more like media blitz opportunities. Formerly-famous-for-fraudalent-talent "role models" Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian have been celebrated with magazine photo shoots, movie roles, merchandising deals, and reality shows in the wake of their sex tape snafus.
This week C-level R&B singer Cassie joined the group of "woe is me, someone hacked into my computer" ladies (i.e., Vanessa Hudgens and Adrienne Bailon are just two others that have come before her in the the past couple years), when topless photos showcasing her tiny breasts and pierced nipples were "leaked" onto the 'net. Cassie responded by Twittering something along the likes of that her computer was hacked into, that it wasn't a big deal because everyone has seen breasts before, so get over it.
Well now much more has been revealed. Cassie apparently took some waaaaay raunchier photos as well. This one here shows her with her legs wide open showing off even more piercings. *Sigh*
Unfortunately, Cassie is now getting a lot of attention, and she's also got the web buzzing about the fact that she probably did this intentionally so that she'd be on people's radar by the time her next album is released (which is coming soon).
Honestly girls. If this is how you're comfortable getting attention in your lives (and i'm saying in general, not just for attention in your career), then you need to re-evaluate everything about yourself and your level of confidence. It's just so misguided and unbelievably sad to me. Obviously all of these digital pics of naked celebs were taken to send to a boyfriend/husband at the time. But honestly, naked photos, and sex tapes are pointless if you have sex appeal and self-esteem on lock. "Sex appeal" isn't potential porn star-ability. Sex appeal can exude from someone who is intelligent, funny, attractive, and fully-clothed in fact. And hot relationships can (and should) actually thrive within the realm of imagination and sexy words alone.
If your boyfriend/husband needs a hard copy piece of proof for daily referral purposes to remember what you look like naked, you're not that memorable and he's simply objectifying you. And if you are sending a potential suitor these sorts of pics to show him "what he's missing" but not getting with it yet, or "what's in store" for when you undoubtedly sleep with him, then you're even more pathetic.
(1) You are essentially giving the guy an opportunity to pre-judge the goods and decide whether or not you are even worth it to pursue,
(2) you are basically admitting that there's not much else that should attract the man to you and make him want to get to know you outside of what your naked body looks like, and
(3) you are just advertising how easy you are in the first place.
Cassie's a BEAUTIFUL girl, and for her to stoop to this level and feel like she had to do something like this to keep her man's attention (whether or not that man is the rumored Diddy himself), just illustrates how little she thinks she has to offer and that she doesn't even get how beautiful she really is. If you truly "got it like that", then your man will be able to recall what you look like naked, and probably DOES recall it in his daydreams and PM fantasies whenever you are not around. If he wants or needs a souvenir (pic, tape, etc.), then you're not that special and you're only setting yourself up for future "leaks". Think before you hit "save" and/or "send".
To read the first three installments of our "Sex Ed = Self Esteem" series, just enter that title in quotes in the white search box at the top of the page. Believe me, it's worth it. :)

Anna Sui x Gossip Girl x Target = Win
On September 13th, Target stores will debut an Anna Sui clothing line inspired by the characters on "Gossip Girl". I'm literally swooning. Anna Sui, Gossip Girl AND Target (meaning I can afford to buy out every item, in every size, for every character???). Ha. Don't worry - I won't be that crazy. I'll just buy all the Blair stuff, since we work from the same style palette. ;)

Help Anthony Meet Lady Gaga!!!

I usually don't partake in things like this, but this person has been quite persistent and I love to witness the ballooning build of viral marketing campaigns with specific goals run by regular folx.
I received an email (several times) that started something like this...
We're just writing in regards to a personal goal of our friend to have Lady GaGa make an appearance at his 19th birthday party later on this year.
...and ended something like this...
His family and friends think it'll never happen, but he remains optimistic and would be so very, very grateful. He will continue to document the status of his mission to the moment he finally has the chance to meet her.
Basically Anthony is Lady Gaga's biggest fan, and wants to get as much press, and as many followers on Twitter, and group members on Facebook as he can, to get behind his plight.
Anthony's Twitter account is http://twitter.com/anthonynacc and he has a Facebook group set up for the cause as well here. If you have any contacts at local radio stations, Lady Gaga fan clubs, other music websites, and/or Gaga's management team, please shout out Anthony to them as much as you can.
Say It With Pictures: THE MET COSTUME GALA '09 EDITION
Some say a picture's worth a thousand words. Once again, I can pretty much sum these up in less than 20.
WHO: singer/songwriter/producer/actor/clothing designer Justin Timberlake with whats-her-name (I know what it is, I'm joking, please don't email me about it).
MISS TLC SAYS: Can everybody please just leave those glasses to Kanye from now on???
WHO: uber-legend Madonna.
MISS TLC SAYS: I don't co-sign the head gear, but I LOVE the dress. I would so rock that frock.
WHO: R&B singer Ciara.
MISS TLC SAYS: Gorgeous. Simply stunning actually. She has the perfect body to wear that sexy gown.
WHO: former Victoria's Secret Angel/model Gisele Bundchen-Brady.
MISS TLC SAYS: Usually when women get married, they start to dress a lil more reserved... but not GB in THAT dress.
WHO: supermodel Cindy Crawford.
MISS TLC SAYS: That dress is too slutty for Cindy. It looks like something "The Real Housewives of The OC" would wear.
WHO: actress Jessica Alba.
MISS TLC SAYS: SUCH a fun, flirty, bright dress. I would DEFINITELY wear this one. She looks great.
WHO: "Gossip Girl"'s Blair Waldorf, Leighton Meester.
MISS TLC SAYS: She got dissed for this daring choice, but I think she looks like a living doll.
WHO: "Gossip Girl"'s Serena van der Woodsen, Blake Lively.
MISS TLC SAYS: This fits her character/image. A sexy, free-flowing goddess. Pretty color.
WHO:pop singer Rihanna.
MISS TLC SAYS: She was equally lauded and laughed at for this one. Honestly people. Don't encourage this. Grace Jones clone anyone?

* Bob Dylan man. He's like 90, and this is like his 527th album. LOL. Just joking. He's actually going to be 68 at the end of this month, and this is his 33rd studio album. So that's pretty huge that he still has it in him to debut at #1. Then again, you don't have to sell that much to land in that spot anymore, but I digress. It's still big for him, so congrats.
* Both Rick Ross and Asher Roth decreased their sales by the standard percentages in their second weeks on the chart (Ross -68%, Roth -65%). I think Rick has more staying power though, so he can pretty much guarantee a Gold album at this point. Asher? Not so much. But all things are possible...
* Ugh... Hannah, Twilight, and the Now compilations... will you ever go away??? Ha. Probably not, and I'm sure they're VERY happy about that.
* You know, I heard a lot of complaints about Jamie Foxx' performance on American Idol recently. I didn't watch the show, and I didn't see it, but interestingly enough, the people who are NOT fans of his genre tore him apart. Some things I heard/read: "Why do actors assume they can be singers?" "What was with that electronic sound coming out of his mic?" "It was embarrassing, and you could tell Simon hated it." However, what those people didn't realize is that [1] Jamie Foxx can sing. Perhaps he had an off night (cuz like I said, I didn't see the performance), but it's not a BS "I'm just gonna crossover cuz I feel like it" career move with him. He's been doing the music thing for a long time. [2] Auto-tune, as annoying as it is, is a very popular trend right now. Jamie is just following suit by employing the machine on his hit song "Blame It". [3] The boy is selling. Granted, his album has now been out for 5 months, but he's sold upwards of 885K units, and he just bounced back into the Top 20 (which might have had something to do with the Idol performance). In conclusion, Jamie's doing it, so don't knock his hustle.
* The album in the #5 spot sold less than 40K copies! Honestly people, music makes the world go around. It helps us to celebrate good times, and get through the bad times. It is universal, it is fun, it is powerful, and it is important. BUY IT!!!!! ;)

Abbrev R Key When Txtng
I can say a lot in 160 characters, but there's PLENTY of times when I've cursed the standard text message limit because I can't figure out a shorter way to say something to a friend.
Either way, this is an interesting article about the man behind the limit, and how it came to be:

We HEART Joel McHale - Check Out His New Show Here!!!
MISS TLC SAYS: We at The Wonderful World of Miss TLC genuinely heart Joel McHale and would watch anything he's in. However, this show actually looks great, period (as opposed to great, because we love him). It looks hilarious, but it definitely looks like it will have some poignant moments as well. Congrats for Joel for scoring the lead in an NBC pilot! Smooches!
Jessica Simpson Looks BEAUTIFUL In Vanity Fair

MISS TLC SAYS: That's my fave shot. Very old-school, natural glamour. You can see the rest @ In Case You Didn't Know here.
New Magazine Announced: Elle Weekly (Formerly OK!)
Excerpted from another Miss TLC friend, CoverAwards.com...
A celebrity weekly insider tells CoverAwards exclusively that OK! Magazine’s publisher Lori Burgess is instructing staffers that the new focus of OK! Magazine is to become a weekly version of Elle Magazine.
Read Mark's whole piece here. Mark is the former EIC of Life & Style so he KNOWS what he's talking about (kinda like how Miss TLC is with the music biz). :)
Tracy Feith 4 Target News!
Lifted from our friend FameSpy...
Tracy Feith’s collection for Target doesn’t arrive for 2 weeks, but after seeing the first images I am super-excited for the big arrival, which might be the best Target collaboration we’ve seen in awhile. Besides, Michelle Obama’s a fan.

Don't Badmouth Your Boss Online (Or You Might Get Fired)!
MISS TLC SAYS: We've been hearing for years that you should not post anything on a social profile that could get your fired from a job, or overlooked for school admission. However, all social networking sites (including Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, Twitter) offer a "private" option which supposedly blocks outsiders from viewing your posts, pictures, and/or blog rants. Here's the thing though. Passwords are transferrable. In other words, you may think that you've only allowed your friend Jane Smith access to your profile, but Jane may be a free spirit who doesn't mind giving her password to Tom, Dick, & Harry when they ask. And they may be asking so that they can spy on you! Also, you can't really trust your co-workers and classmates. They may log in and show everyone your profile for fun for all you know. In this case above, it's truly a shame that the restaurant workers specifically set up a password-protected group for the sole purpose of ranting about the day-to-day stresses that come with working at a Houston's restaurant in New Jersey, and then had the password fall into the wrong hands. But either way, the moral of the story is: don't put anything in writing about your boss if it's derogatory and/or could land you in hot water. If you need to vent, just do it in person with a close friend or family member.
Umm... What?
I'm still scratching my head at this nonsense. A few different readers have sent me this YouTube video which is a REAL commercial for a furniture store called Redhouse Furniture.
I know the internet is rife with low-budget localized commercials, but this one really takes the cake:
Seriously??? Seriously? At first I said "obviously this is a joke", however, this pic (which I found on their website as I was trying to confirm whether this was a real company) shows me that not only is the company real, but the commercial is real as well. The commercial was not being shown on their site when I checked it out BUT there was a "gallery" which showed thumbnail shots of mostly furniture. There I found evidence that the guy in the commercial really works there.
He even looks confused and uncomfortable there too!

Wanna See Eminem's "3 AM" Video (which debuted on Cinemax tonight)?
MISS TLC SAYS: Well clearly we know why it had to debut on Cinemax, as opposed to regular ole' MTV. I'd like to see how they'll clean this one up for them - lol. No, but seriously. Em's a really sick guy, but he's also smart. This was perfect to release now as the complete anti-thesis of the "We Made You" song and video. Show 'em both sides, and get 'em talking right before the album release on the 19th.

Henri Bendel Will No Longer Sell Clothes!!!

Bendel's dropped a bombshell on NYC shoppers who love luxury this morning. Excerpted from a piece in NY Times Business section...A venerable name in New York retailing, Henri Bendel, is planning to stop selling clothes this summer and focus on accessories and beauty products as it struggles to lure shoppers during a prolonged recession.
Bendel’s flagship store at 712 Fifth Avenue will also give up one of its three floors, according to the company’s plans.
MISS TLC SAYS: I looooooooooove Bendel's. I have bought clothes there through the years, but I definitely go there more for their jewelry, perfume, makeup, and famous hair accessories department. I mean seriously, it's like the place was made for Miss TLC - Annick Goutal, Benefit, Chanel, MAC, L. Erickson and Jennifer Behr all in one place?!!!? However, I'm not ENTIRELY surprised that they weren't making as much money in the clothing department as they were elsewhere. Considering they are only closing one of the floors that contained clothes (one floor is all makeup & accessories, one floor is jewelry, perfume, AND clothes, and one floor is all clothes), it's not so bad for the flagship department. However the part that does concern me is the fact that they are going to convert the Henri Bendel brand into a multi-store mall chain selling accessories and "midpriced gifts". I get the whole "experience the famous Henri Bendel at a mall near you" thing, but as a native NY-er, I'm protective of my landmarks, and think it depreciates their value by doing something like that. However, businesses have to do what they can to stay afloat in this tough economy and I'd obviously prefer that they do something like this as opposed to closing period.
You can read the entire NY Times piece here.
Me In A Cab

MISS TLC SAYS: Hmm. I don't think that anyone flying from New York City to Mexico City nowadays is "relaxed".....
For past editions of "Me In A Cab", just type that whole phrase (with quotes) into the search bar at the top of this page. Each of those posts shows a pic taken by Miss TLC in a cab with a random thought to go with it. Believe me, it's worth it. ;)
Nas & Kelis: The Music Stops
As you may have heard by now, singer Kelis has filed for divorce from rapper Nas, after only 4 years of marriage. *Sigh* It really makes you wonder if people are fighting the right fight when they squabble over the moral and religious and civil rights issues surrounding same-sex unions. I mean... traditional marriages between men and women are WROUGHT with problems of their own. Those who call themselves conservative and moral and religious should perhaps focus on the fact that their own brethren are divorcing at record rates (*ahem* I'm talking to you Mel Gibson), having children before (or without) marriage, or committing adultery. The common argument against gay marriage in those groups is that "God is against it" or "it's in the bible that it's wrong", but so is divorce and adultery. I'm not saying anyone is without sin, but it's something to think about. It saddens me immensely that marriage is taken so lightly nowadays. In my parent's day, you stuck it out with the person you chose to marry and worked on your problems when they arose.
Anyhoo, back to Nas & Kelis. Here are some details from UsWeekly...A lawyer for Kelis -- most known for her hit "Milkshake" -- filed divorce papers Thursday afternoon citing verbal abuse and infidelity, according to Vibe, which first reported the break up.
MISS TLC SAYS: Hmm. Verbal abuse, huh? Might said verbal abuse have anything to do with this dress?
I'm just playin' y'all... ;)
